Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of legal, regulatory, and brand risk for PepsiCo’s Beverage business, working closely with Communications, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA), and Public Policy & Government Affairs (PPGA) teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory challenges relating to Food Laws, Legal Metrology, and BIS standards across the region.


Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Category Support

  • Work closely with Beverage vertical leads and internal stakeholders on brand reputation issues, including on social media platforms
  • Review and approve all product launches, claims, brand promotions, campaigns, marketing activation plans, and artworks for compliance with applicable laws
  • Collaborate with Beverage Category, the 3 Countries teams, Product Development, Nutrition Science, and Scientific & Regulatory Affairs to assess legal implications of proposals — including new product launches and product claims — and offer solutions that keep proposals compliant

2. Contract Management

  • Review internal approval memos against Multi-Year Contract (MYC) thresholds, flagging legal risk and advising on remediation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation relating to celebrity endorsements, media buying, brand promotions, key-account/channel agreements, and related business documents

3. Litigation

  • Coordinate with external counsel to monitor and strategize marketing-related beverage litigation
  • Track key legal/regulatory developments and advise and align business stakeholders accordingly
  • Work with SRA and PPGA teams to identify and mitigate legal/regulatory challenges under Food Laws, Legal Metrology, and BIS, and support representations to regulatory authorities to safeguard PepsiCo’s interests and business continuity

4. Training

  • Conduct legal training sessions
  • Partner with Compliance & Ethics (C&E) teams to support Code of Conduct (COC) investigations and deliver FCPA and Anti-Bribery training to employees

Required Qualifications

  • Law Graduate with 12+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Excellent knowledge of Food Law, Legal Metrology, social media law, and other regulations applicable to the FMCG industry
  • Strong legal research and interpretation skills
  • Sound legal drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong professional networking ability
